START-UP PROJECT 2

We started off the project on a high. I recall how after the slack group, how we didn’t respond to each other’s messages for like two days.

At that point, I guess we all were trying to settle in. As we found ourselves with total strangers scattered across Nigeria.

It’s a boot camp, right?

In another way, it gave the "big brother Naija" feeling when meeting different people from every part of Nigeria.

We scheduled our first meeting and that was the point we broke the silence. The team leader went on a personal engagement with every member in their DM’s (guess what! not everyone).

Seamless introductions started. Exciting right?

It worked as the meeting started everyone got comfortable enough and introductions.

Each week we have deliverables. We came in and we could feel our hearts pumping. And the feeling of not grasping what to look forward to overtook us all.

Yet, I must say. There was total cooperation from the team, and we concluded. To start with a proper problem statement. and reconvene the next day 9th January 2023.

Monday the 9th of January was an interesting day as we had a free flow of ideas for our problem statement. We collated the problem statement, analyzed it, and settle for the perfect fit for the product. The process was seamless and there was no disagreement on its potency. We also got the name for the project "FinFast".

We further proceeded to test the knowledge of the sub-team.

I know you understand what this means. Yes, you do!

We split the sub-team into separate groups for their brainstorming sessions.

As the team leads, the level of coordination, collaboration, and communication between them. It was amazing!

We saw a genuine drive to work for the betterment of the entire project.

We set a 24-hour (noon 11th January). The target for submission of the sub-team’s brainstorming document.

The entire team proceeded to another brainstorming session (8:30 pm on 11th January 2023).

The sub-teams discussed the deliverables and finalized them.

This brainstorming session was the most productive conversation. Finally, the touches to the project were in place.

We sampled the logo and settled for a particular one. Another amazing event happened on the night of January 11th. The product design team stayed up till 4 am to finish the design of the landing page. And boy!! It was amazing.

This took me down memory lane. Yes, my university days, lol.

Then I will decide to read but slept off. And then discover that my friends finished the entire course syllabus in my absence.

Yet, it was one of the most touching moments of the project. It was a sheer moment of commitment the team displayed.

We finally deliberated, on the presentation slide. While the proofreading happened on the 12th of January. To put the final touches on our presentation slide.

Week one was very interesting and I can only hope for a more interesting week 2.
